NASI CAMPUR - A TASTE OF SUMBA
In a sense this is what Sumbanese people eat at home every day throughout their lives. But the term is usually restricted to dishes that one buys at a Warung, if they exist. Most Sumbanese Warungs that serve Corn Rice have a glass enclosed case in which are bowls of various pre-cooked dishes. There is almost always fried chicken and usually some sort of meat, vegetables and sauces. Usually there is fried Tempe (fermented soy bean cakes) and cooked eggs. You can just order Nasi and the person in charge usually a woman, puts a scoop of cooked corn rice on a plate, and then adds a small portion of content of each bowl, plus a dab of Sambal. (spicy chili sauce)
